In the 21st century, marketing and advertising tips are highly sought after by internet ad agencies across the country and, in fact, the world. The Internet has changed marketing forever. The most drastic change the World Wide Web has brought about is the fact that marketing is now dependent on real-time communication. Unlike the times before the Internet, where ads were dependent on scheduled mediums such as print and television, our current time can produce rapid, real-time exchanges of information around the world with the click of a button. This has resulted in many innovations in digital media marketing, most impressive of which, perhaps, is search engine optimization.
Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the process of creating online content for clients in order to increase the client’s ranking on search engine result pages. The higher placement the content receives, the more likely it will be seen by search engine users. Search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo!, and DuckDuckGo use special programs and algorithms to find appropriate content for any given search. With SEO marketing, a company can advertise by producing content with certain keywords and structures that will garner attention from these programs and increase its placement on the results page.
Why use search engines as opposed to traditional pay per click advertising? Digital marketing experts will tell you that, simply put, paid ads are out. It is thought that 70 to 80% of paid advertisements are ignored by search engine users. Not only that, 93% of all Internet experiences begin with a search engine inquiry. Search engines also direct more traffic to website content than any other Internet feature or app available. Utilizing search engines for advertising simply makes the sense.
